From 17 to 21 October 2016, UNIDO hosted the 1st annual “BRIDGE for Cities” event in Vienna, Austria. The event was co-organized by the Finance-Center for South-South Cooperation and the Austrian Federal Economic Chamber. The event focused on promoting inclusive and sustainable city dialogue for the fulfillment of the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development. With an emphasis on cities, this event featured participation from representatives of different city governments, the private sector, development agencies and academia.
ONE-BELT-ONE-ROAD INCLUSIVE AND SUSTAINABLE CITY SERVICE NETWORK
UNIDO is pleased to announce the launch of the “One-Belt-One-Road Inclusive and Sustainable City Service Network” which is open for signature to all representatives from cities, chambers of commerce and academic institutions. This network aims to provide the following services to the signatories of the focal point agreement:
To help technical cooperation projects meet the demands and challenges of urban-industrial development
To facilitate city-level and sector-specific matchmaking;
To advance capacity-building and trade and investment promotion;
To share southern solutions for integrated urban-industrial development
To promote urban-industrial innovation through knowledge transfer
To encourage dialogue for city-to-city, city-to-business and business-to-business cooperation
The “One-Belt-One-Road Inclusive and Sustainable City Service Network” is a mutually beneficial service open to all signatories on a voluntary basis. Please note that this agreement is non-binding in nature and that all services can be availed without any financial obligation to either party. Those interested are invited to sign the attached focal point agreement.
